JUST Hosts Workshop on Curriculum Development for BAETE Accreditation
A workshop focused on curriculum development for outcome-based education was held at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) with the aim of ensuring the quality of engineering and technical education in line with the standards of the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE).
The event, titled “Curriculum Development for Outcome-Based Education: A Pathway to BAETE Accreditation”, was organized on Saturday, May 31, in the virtual classroom of JUST by the Improving Computer and Software Engineering Tertiary Education Project (ICSETEP).
The workshop was graced by Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid, Vice-Chancellor of JUST, as the chief guest.
Participants discussed in detail how various departments of JUST could be brought under the accreditation framework of BAETE, which operates under the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
Chaired by Dr. Md. Alam Hossain, Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Principal Education Expert (PEE) of ICSETEP, the event also featured remarks from Professor Dr. Hossain Al Mamun, Treasurer of JUST, and Professor Dr. Muhammad Aminul Haque Akand, Project Director of ICSETEP, as special guests.
Other notable attendees included Dr. Md. Amzad Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; Dr. Md. Kamrul Islam, Chairman of the CSE Department; Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammad Naushin Ahmed Sheikh; Dr. Md. Nazmul Hossain, along with faculty members from various departments.
