Apple Unveils ‘Invites’ App for Custom Event Planning

On Tuesday, Apple introduced a new app called ‘Invites,’ allowing users to create and share customized invitations for any event. Through this app, iPhone users can design invitations, manage RSVPs, add photos and videos to a shared album, and even curate a playlist for their event. The report was published by TechCrunch.
However, using Invites requires an iCloud+ subscription. That said, recipients do not need an Apple account or device to accept invitations or RSVP.
Many have pointed out that Invites closely resembles popular third-party apps, particularly Partiful, which was named the best app on Google Play in 2024. Partiful has already indirectly accused Apple of imitation.
With Invites, users can select images from their photo library or the app’s gallery, integrate maps for location details, and include weather forecasts, ensuring guests have all necessary event-related information at their fingertips.
Additionally, attendees can preserve event memories through a shared album and create a playlist using Apple Music. Apple’s Image Playground enables users to design unique invitations, while Apple Intelligence writing tools assist in crafting invitation texts.
The Apple Invites app will be available for free on the App Store for all iPhones running iOS 18 or later. It can also be accessed via icloud.com/invites.
