JUST Observes Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi with Solemnity and Spirituality

Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) commemorated the holy occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) with due reverence, religious solemnity, and deep respect through a series of events including a flag-hoisting ceremony, discussion sessions, prayers, and Milad Mahfil.

On Saturday, September 6, the observance formally began at 9:00 am with the hoisting of the national flag in front of JUST’s administrative building. After the Zuhr prayers, the university organized a discussion session, special prayers, and a Milad Mahfil at the central mosque. The session highlighted the life, teachings, and mission of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), with particular focus on Islam’s message of peace, progress, harmony, universal brotherhood, human rights, and the dignity of women. The program was graced by JUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid as the chief speaker.

It was recalled that Sayyiduna wa Sayyidul Mursaleen wa Anbiyayeen Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) was born on 12 Rabi’ul Awwal, Monday, in 570 CE in the noble Quraysh family of Makkah, as a mercy for all mankind. This day has been observed with honor and reverence across the world for centuries.

Highlighting the significance of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid stated, “The Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is the greatest human being to have ever lived. His life and ideals are exemplary for all Muslims. His life was meaningful, diverse, and enriched, embodying every noble human quality. He always worked to establish justice and fairness, while also being truthful, just, a fair judge, and a great statesman.” He urged all present to read the Holy Qur’an and the biography of the Prophet (SAW) and to shape their lives according to his teachings.

The program, organized by JUST, was attended by deans of various faculties, chairpersons, heads of offices, as well as teachers, students, officers, and staff from different departments of the university.
