Eid Entertainment: Moviegoers Flock to Theaters
This Eid, a total of six films have been released, with Borbad, Dagi, and Jungli emerging as the most anticipated among moviegoers. Audiences have eagerly booked tickets online in advance to secure their seats.
As a result, on Wednesday (April 2), no tickets were available for Borbad, Dagi, or Jungli in the capital’s multiplexes. Reports suggest that tickets for the following day are also completely sold out, as viewers had already made their bookings online. The overwhelming demand even caused the Star Cineplex website to crash for more than two hours.
Addressing the situation, Star Cineplex’s Senior Marketing Manager Mesbah Uddin Ahmed stated, "The three Eid films—Borbad, Dagi, and Jungli—are performing exceptionally well. Every show has been houseful so far. Audiences are flocking to the theaters to watch these movies, but today, no tickets are available. As a result, many are trying to purchase tickets online simultaneously, which might have led to the website crash. Our team is working to resolve the issue quickly. Most tickets for tomorrow have already been sold as well."
Similarly, Blockbuster Cinemas Manager Mahabubur Rahman shared, "Among the Eid releases, Borbad, Dagi, and Jungli are doing exceptionally well. We had scheduled a show for Antaratma, but there hasn't been much audience interest. Meanwhile, tickets for the other three films are completely sold out until tomorrow. Many people are coming to the theater only to leave disappointed due to unavailability of tickets."
