Nintendo Next: Switch 2 Set for June Launch

Nintendo has officially announced the release of its next-generation gaming console, the Nintendo Switch 2, scheduled to hit the market on June 5. As the successor to the home-portable Switch gaming device, the new console will be priced at $449.99. In Japan, the standard version will cost 49,980 yen (approximately $334.09), while the multilingual edition will be priced at 69,980 yen. The news was reported by Reuters.
The Switch 2 will feature a larger and more advanced display, along with mouse functionality. Among the new game titles confirmed for the console is "Mario Kart World".
Market analysts believe that the higher price point may initially lead to mixed reactions, but demand is expected to rise over time. The original Nintendo Switch, launched in 2017 at $299.99, has sold 150 million units worldwide to date.
Industry experts estimate that Nintendo has set a sales target of over 10 million units in the first year of the Switch 2's launch.
