Nintendo Switch 2 Officially Announced, Full Reveal Expected in April

After years of speculation, Nintendo has finally unveiled the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. The official announcement was made on January 16 through a brief trailer. A special Nintendo Direct event scheduled for April 2 will provide further details about the new console, according to Engadget.

The Nintendo Switch 2 closely resembles its predecessor but features a larger display, magnetic Joy-Sticks, and a more refined design. Nintendo has confirmed that the new model will maintain compatibility with existing Switch games. Additionally, the updated version includes two USB-C ports, making it easier to connect accessories. The headphone jack remains intact, though it is still unclear whether the console will support Bluetooth headphones.

The device’s kickstand has also been improved, spanning the entire width of the console like the Switch OLED model and offering full adjustability. However, details regarding battery life, user interface, and game launch titles are yet to be revealed.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to launch sometime between April and June, with an official confirmation likely during the April 2 Nintendo Direct event.
