Inspired by Humayun Ahmed’s novel Kichhukhon, the train journey-based film Bonolota Express, directed by Tanim Noor, has witnessed a significant increase in showtimes across major multiplex chains including Star Cineplex, Lion Cinemas, Blockbuster Cinemas, and K-Screen Cineplex due to rising audience demand.
Particularly at multiple branches of Star Cineplex, the film is running several shows per day, drawing noticeable audience turnout. However, despite its growing popularity, some viewers have reported difficulties in securing tickets. Many have complained that due to limited ticket availability relative to demand, they are being compelled to watch other films instead. As a result, there has been a growing call to further increase the number of shows for Bonolota Express.
Amid this strong demand, the film has entered the Tk 3 crore club within just 11 days of release. The director himself confirmed the milestone. According to the film’s team, based on data received from various multiplexes, the movie’s total gross earnings have exceeded Tk 3 crore.
The film features a star-studded cast including Mosharraf Karim, Chanchal Chowdhury, Shariful Raj, Sabila Noor, and Azmeri Haque Badhon. The director noted that the film’s success is largely driven by positive audience response and the growing trend of families attending cinemas together.
