Meta and UFC Sign Multi-Year Partnership Agreement

Meta Platforms and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) have signed a multi-year partnership agreement, making Meta the UFC’s first "Official Fan Technology Partner", the UFC announced in a statement on Wednesday. The deal aims to enhance the fan experience through Meta’s technologies, according to a report by Reuters.

As part of the agreement, Meta’s text-based platform, Threads, will serve as UFC’s official social media partner. Additionally, Meta branding will be featured inside the UFC’s Octagon ring during pay-per-view and "Fight Night" events. The partnership also includes broadcast features and immersive arena experiences.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has built a close relationship with UFC CEO Dana White in recent years. Zuckerberg, an enthusiast of mixed martial arts, actively participates in the sport recreationally. Meanwhile, Dana White joined Meta’s board of directors in January.

The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. Notably, Dana White shares a personal friendship with former U.S. President Donald Trump and publicly spoke in support of Trump at the Republican National Convention in July 2024.
