Mechanical Faculty Clinches CUET Championship Cup
The Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Faculty emerged champions of the Shimul Memorial Inter-Faculty Football Tournament organized by the Teachers’ Association of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), held in memory of late faculty member Shimul Biswas. The Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty finished as runners-up.
In the final match, the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Faculty defeated the Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty 2–0.
Md. Russel Rana was named the tournament’s Best Player, while Professor Dr. Md. Sanaul Rabbi, Nezam Uddin, and Md. Russel Rana jointly received the award for Top Scorer. S.M. Fahim Faisal was recognized as Best Goalkeeper, and Professor Dr. Md. Sanaul Rabbi was honored as Player of the Final.
The prize distribution ceremony took place on Monday evening, September 22, at the central playground of CUET. CUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiya attended as the chief guest. Special guests included Professor Dr. Kazi Delwar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Professor Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Registrar (Additional Charge).
The ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. G.M. Sadiqul Islam, President of the Teachers’ Association, with General Secretary Professor Dr. Md. Arafat Rahman and other leaders of the Teachers’ Association also in attendance.
