Top-Tier Training at University of Frontier Technology Targets Cybersecurity

As part of the B-TOP CS program, a two-day cybersecurity training workshop titled “How to Make Top Management Aware of Cyber Security (TMA)” was held at the Gazipur campus of the University of Frontier Technology, Bangladesh (UFTB). The sessions took place at the university’s administrative building on September 21–22, Sunday and Monday, running from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day, with senior officials from various institutions across the country in attendance.

The workshop was organized by UFTB’s Department of Software Engineering with the support of the ICT Division, Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS).

The closing ceremony was attended by UFTB Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, JICA Project Coordinator Katsuki Naho, and Professor Dr. Mohammad Obaidur Rahman of the Computer Science and Engineering Department at Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET).

In his address as the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf stated, “The main objective of this workshop was to highlight the importance of cyber risks to top management and to inform them of effective strategies to address such challenges. I urge the participants to utilize the knowledge gained from this training to become more conscious about cybersecurity.”

Speakers at the closing session further noted that such training programs play a vital role in strengthening the country’s cybersecurity capacity. Participants also expressed optimism about applying the knowledge they had acquired to their respective fields of work.
