The orientation program for the newly admitted students of the 2025-26 academic session has been completed with great enthusiasm at Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST). Organized by the Student Counselling and Guidance Office, the new members of the university were officially welcomed through this colorful ceremony. At the beginning of the orientation, recitations from the holy scriptures were performed and the national anthem was sung. Afterwards, the freshers were welcomed with flowers and educational materials.

This freshman orientation ceremony was held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 10:30 AM in the Birshreshtha Hamidur Rahman Gymnasium of the university. The entire campus was buzzing with the footsteps of the new students throughout the day. After the program, students were seen roaming around various areas of the university including academic buildings in groups, and many captured their first day of university life on their mobile phones.

The Vice Chancellor of JUST, Professor Dr. Yarul Kabir, was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the freshers, he said, "You have come to this university with many dreams. You will make your parents' names bright, and work for the country and the nation. Similarly, your parents also have a dream that when you leave the university, you will emerge as a complete human being. Our responsibility is to build you up as complete individuals. But along with our duty to shape you into complete human beings, it is also your responsibility to cooperate with us. I believe that those of you who are new will cooperate with us to build yourselves into proper human beings." He further added, "You must be cautious in choosing friends. A good friend will help you reach your good goals. From now on, just as you are free, your responsibilities are also greater. Your responsibility towards this country and nation is immense. In the coming days, you must move with greater wisdom. This university will provide the maximum cooperation to give you a suitable environment for study and research."

The Pro-Vice Chancellor of JUST, Professor Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan, was present as the special guest. Addressing the new students, he said, "You will study at this university for the next four years. Every year, a large sum of the government's money, meaning the tax money of the common people of the country, will be spent on you. This money is the hard-earned income of the working farmers, day laborers, and laboring people of our country. Therefore, we owe a massive debt to these common people of the country. And the only way to repay this debt is to build oneself as an honest, qualified, and skilled citizen and dedicate oneself to the welfare of the country. Just as we need skilled people, we also need honest people who love this country."

Presided over by the Director of the Student Counselling and Guidance Office, Professor Dr. Md. Rafiual Hasan, the welcome ceremony was addressed by the Convener of the Deans Committee Professor Dr. Imran Khan, JUST Deans Professor Dr. Sheikh Mizanur Rahman, Professor Dr. Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, Professor Dr. Md. Hafiz Uddin, Dr. Mohammad Kamal Hossian, Dr. Marium Jamila, Professor Dr. Md. Nasim Reza, Professor Dr. Md. Ziaul Amin, Registrar Kazi Md. Jalal Uddin, Convener of Provost Council Professor Dr. Md.
