U.S. President Donald Trump has called for the immediate dismissal of Microsoft’s Global Affairs President Lisa Monaco, alleging that she poses a “major threat” to national security, according to Reuters.

Monaco previously served as National Security Advisor under Democratic President Barack Obama and as Deputy Attorney General in the Biden administration. She played a key role in coordinating the Justice Department’s response during the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters. In July this year, she joined Microsoft to oversee the company’s global government affairs.

Trump wrote on Truth Social, “Monaco is a threat to the United States’ national security, particularly considering Microsoft’s critical contracts with the U.S. government.” He added, “In my view, Microsoft should immediately fire Lisa Monaco.”

Earlier, in February, the U.S. government revoked Monaco’s security clearance and on Friday prohibited her from accessing all federal property.

Microsoft has not commented on Trump’s statements, and Monaco herself has not issued an immediate response.

Trump’s remarks come a day after charges were filed against former FBI Director James Comey. He hinted that further charges could be brought against his political opponents. In the past, Trump has used his administrative authority to exert pressure on law firms, universities, and officials involved in investigations against him.

Recently, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and other top technology executives met with Trump at the White House. Trump has long raised concerns over perceived Republican bias within the tech sector.
