Dr. Saif Uddin Ahmed- the New Administrator for e-CAB
Dr. Saif Uddin Ahmed, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, has been appointed as the new administrator of the e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB). He replaces Deputy Secretary Muhammad Saeed Ali, who had previously been appointed to the post.
According to Section 17 of the Trade Organization Act 2022, upon the expiry of one administrator’s tenure, he is relieved, and a new administrator is appointed to oversee elections. The provision states that Muhammad Saeed Ali served from September 11 last year until September 10 this year. The newly appointed administrator is required to update the voter list and conduct elections within 120 days, after which he must hand over responsibilities to the elected committee and notify the Ministry of Commerce.
The information was disclosed in an official notice signed by Muhammad Rehan Uddin, Director General of Trade Organization Wing-2, on Sunday, September 28. However, it has been learned that on September 29, the new administrator did not visit the e-CAB office.
