DNCC Smart Parking is free on holidays

DNCC has launched 'Smart On-Street Parking' from November 8 to ensure discipline in car parking in Dhaka North City Corporation area and bring revolutionary changes in car parking facilities. Motorists will not need to pay any parking fee on Fridays and other public holidays. This facility is being introduced for the first time in Bangladesh.

However, parking fee will be applicable from Saturday to Thursday from 8 am to 10 pm. There is no fee for parking after 10 pm to 8 am. Car/Jeep/Microbus: Tk.50 for first 2 hours, Tk.50 for next 3rd hour and Tk.100 per hour from 4th hour onwards.

Apart from this, for motorbikes, the bikers have to pay Tk. 15 for the first 2 hours, Tk. 15 for the next 3 hours and Tk. 30 for every hour from the 4th hour. Again this charge can be paid on-ground through POS machines.

Car parking activities in Gulshan area through mobile app to provide service as per the accepted piloting program in Gulshan area Road Nos. 52, 58, 62, 63, 64, 103, DIT Circular Road, Gulshan 2 Inner Circular Road for car parking with necessary painting on the road Infrastructure is built by DNCC.

Vehicle registration must be done initially to get parking allocation. After the registration, the driver of the car must arrive within 100 meters of the parking spot and park the car.

The piloting program will be supervised at the field level along with the Dhaka Metropolitan Police. Based on the results of the piloting program, this program will be implemented in 29 more places in the Dhaka North City Corporation area in the future.

According to sources, the piloting program is being implemented through the joint coordination of Dhaka North City Corporation, Dhaka Metropolitan Police and LOCC. Traffic Police as well as Wardens will be deployed near the car parking spaces to ensure car parking at designated spots.
