JBL Unveils New ‘Cove’ Wi-Fi Speaker Series
Breaking away from its traditional approach in the audio technology industry, technology company JBL has unveiled its new ‘Cove’ series of Wi-Fi speakers designed for use throughout the home.
Although the brand is best known for its portable and Bluetooth party speakers, this marks its first major move toward a ‘whole-home audio’ system. The company has announced three different models under the new series.
Seamless Connectivity and Soundbar Integration
The new Cove series speakers can be easily connected to other speakers in any room of the house through the ‘JBL One’ app. This allows users to enjoy uninterrupted music throughout every corner of their home without losing connectivity or having to change the settings again.
In addition, to make the movie-watching experience more immersive, the speakers can be connected as rear speakers to soundbars from the ‘JBL Bar 2’ series, creating a modern theater-like atmosphere at home.
Technology and Prices of the Three Models
The first model in the series, the ‘Cove M1’, is designed specifically for everyday music listening. Featuring three tweeters and one woofer, the speaker uses AI-powered Sound Boost technology and is priced at $230.
The second model is the ‘Cove P1’, a portable, battery-powered speaker. Its powerful battery can provide up to around 14 hours of playback on a single charge, while Dolby Atmos technology ensures impressive sound quality. The speaker is priced at $400.
The most powerful and flagship model in the series is the ‘Cove X1’. Equipped with four tweeters and two woofers, the device uses Dolby Atmos technology to deliver a clear and deep sound experience throughout the room. This premium speaker is priced at $450.
The Cove series speakers will be available for purchase from September 13 in two attractive colors—black and white. The flexibility to purchase speakers one at a time and gradually build a whole-home audio system according to individual needs is being viewed as a new offering for audio enthusiasts.
