Ramadan Rail Routine Revised
In alignment with the official office schedule during the holy month of Ramadan, a special metro rail timetable has been set for weekly working days from the 1st of Ramadan until the day before Eid-ul-Fitr.
The matter was announced in a notice signed by AKM Khairul Alam, Director (Administration) of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL).
According to the DMTCL notice, during Ramadan the first metro train of the day will depart from Uttara North Station at 6:30am. The last train from Uttara North will leave at 9:30pm. From Motijheel, the first train will depart at 7:15am, while the final train of the night will leave at 10:10pm.
The notice further states that the schedules for Saturdays, other government holidays, and Fridays will remain unchanged.
To facilitate passengers who wish to drink water at iftar during Ramadan, each commuter will be allowed to carry only one bottle of water not exceeding 250 milliliters inside the metro rail and station premises. However, authorities have urged passengers to ensure that water is not spilled. Used water bottles must be disposed of in designated dustbins located on platforms, concourses, and at entry or exit gates. No other food items may be consumed on platforms, concourses, or inside metro trains under any circumstances.
