DIG Declares ‘Talk to DIG’ App for Dhaka Range Citizens

A new mobile application titled ‘Talk to DIG’ is set to launch for citizens under the Dhaka Range, announced Rezaul Karim Mallik, the newly appointed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Dhaka Range. Speaking at a press conference held on Sunday (May 11) at the Dhaka Range DIG Office in Segunbagicha, he said that 98 police stations within the range have already been equipped with monitoring centers featuring CCTV facilities to support this initiative.

Rezaul Karim Mallik stated, “Through this mobile app, citizens will be able to report crimes or seek assistance from the comfort of their homes using their phones. We will ensure the confidentiality of anyone who provides information through the app. The application will be launched soon, and we will inform the public accordingly.”

Explaining further, the DIG said, “Monitoring centers equipped with CCTV have been established in all 98 police stations under the Dhaka Range. From these centers, I will communicate directly via video calls with service seekers and victims to ensure they receive the highest level of service upon visiting the police station. I aim to transform every police station within the Dhaka Range into a model police station for Bangladesh Police.”

He also added that a dedicated monitoring cell will be established at the DIG office to closely oversee cases related to the mass uprising. “I will personally speak with complainants, victims, and families of those martyred or injured during the mass uprising and take appropriate legal action,” he said.
