Shawwal Moon Not Sighted: Eid-ul-Fitr in Bangladesh on March 21
According to astronomical calculations, the moon of the holy month of Shawwal of Hijri 1447 was not sighted in the sky of Bangladesh on Wednesday, March 19. As a result, Friday, March 20, will be observed as Jumuatul Wida.
This completes 30 days of the month of Ramadan. Accordingly, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Bangladesh on Saturday, March 21.
These details were announced by State Minister for Religious Affairs Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad at a meeting held in the conference room of the Islamic Foundation at the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram after Maghrib prayers.
Earlier, following Maghrib prayers, a moon-sighting meeting was held at the Islamic Foundation’s conference room.
No moon was sighted in the country’s sky on March 19.
