According to astronomical calculations, the moon of the holy month of Shawwal of Hijri 1447 was not sighted in the sky of Bangladesh on Wednesday, March 19. As a result, Friday, March 20, will be observed as Jumuatul Wida.

This completes 30 days of the month of Ramadan. Accordingly, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Bangladesh on Saturday, March 21.

These details were announced by State Minister for Religious Affairs Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad at a meeting held in the conference room of the Islamic Foundation at the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram after Maghrib prayers.

Earlier, following Maghrib prayers, a moon-sighting meeting was held at the Islamic Foundation’s conference room.
