The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) is set to host the “Telecom and Digital Innovation Fair 2025” on Wednesday, July 23, at its headquarters in Agargaon, Dhaka. Organized to conclude the ongoing “1GB Free Internet” campaign, the day-long event will feature 32 digital innovations from 20 organizations, the commission announced.

Aimed at promoting the innovative ideas of young inventors, entrepreneurs, and students, the fair is open to the public and aligns with the nation’s broader push toward digital transformation. According to organizers, the exhibition will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., showcasing emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics, Big Data, and Blockchain.

Participants include technology firms, telecom operators, broadband providers, and students from seven public and private universities. "Promising innovations in telecommunications and digital technology will be highlighted at the event," the BTRC said in a statement.

Select innovations will be recognized with awards. The top five will receive certificates, support from BTRC for future development, and cash prizes: BDT 300,000 for the first-place winner, BDT 150,000 for second place, BDT 100,000 for third place, BDT 75,000 for fourth, and BDT 50,000 for fifth place.

The closing ceremony will be attended by Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser for Posts, Telecommunications, and ICT; Shish Haider Chowdhury, Secretary of the ICT Division; Zahurul Islam, Acting Secretary of Posts and Telecommunications; and Major General (Retd.) Md. Emdad Ul Bari, Chairman of BTRC.
