CUET Carnival Concludes with Career Opportunities and Innovation

The two-day “MIE Industrial Tech Carnival 2025” at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) concluded on Friday, July 18. The event was marked by a series of activities focused on innovation, industry-academia collaboration, and employment opportunities.
On the final day, Southern IoT conducted on-site job interviews for graduates from CUET's departments of Mechatronics and Industrial Engineering (MIE), Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. Additionally, the day featured an industry-based problem-solving competition, thematic seminars, career networking sessions, an awards ceremony for competition winners, and a farewell reception for the outgoing graduating class.
Organized by CUET’s Department of Mechatronics and Industrial Engineering in collaboration with Southern IoT Limited, the event commenced on Thursday, July 17, with the “Industrial Techathon” — a practical competition aimed at solving real-world industrial challenges. It was held at the CUET IT Business Incubator.
Later in the day, a seminar titled “Industry 4.0 for Garments” was held. The seminar’s chief guest was CUET's Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Sudip Kumar Pal. Special guests included Professor Dr. Kazi Afzalur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, and Mr. Rakib Quader Chowdhury, CEO of Southern IoT Limited. The keynote address was delivered by Md. Ariful Islam, CTO and Head of Research & Development at Southern IoT Limited.
The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Prosenjit Das, Head of the MIE Department, and opened with a welcome speech by Assistant Professor Dr. Humayun Kabir. The event was hosted by MIE Batch '21 students Wasima Nur Ikra and Ankon Dey Animesh.
