Bangladesh has progressed two steps in terms of broadband and mobile internet. And in 12 months mobile internet has improved by 9 steps and broadband by one step.

Internet access and performance analysis company Okla has given this information by calculating the internet speed of 181 countries in the world. This information is known from the organization's April Speed ​​Test Global Index.

In the span of one month, Bangladesh has moved up two steps in broadband internet speed from 108th to 106th and in mobile internet speed from 112th to 110th position.

According to Okla data, download speed on broadband internet in Bangladesh was 46.52 megabits per second and upload speed was 45.31 megabits per second (Mbps) in April. The average download speed on mobile internet during the same period was 23.83 megabits per second (Mbps) and upload speed was 10.80 megabits per second (Mbps). Normally internet latency was higher in mobile internet than broadband. At that time broadband internet latency was 5 milliseconds. For mobile it is 25 milliseconds.

Banglalink has the best mobile internet speed. In the fourth quarter, the download speed of this operator was 26.74 Mbps. Consistently 24.62 Mbps of Robi, 23.18 Mbps of Airtel, 21.78 Mbps of Grameenphone and 6.05 Mbps of Teletalk.

Bangladesh is somewhat stable in the ranking of broadband internet speed compared to mobile internet speed ups and downs. In April 2023, Bangladesh was ranked 119th based on mobile internet speed. Bangladesh was ranked 118th in May, 119th in June, 120th in July, 118th in August, 113th in September, 108th in October, 107th in November, 108th in December and January, and 107th in February. In March, it fell one step back to 108th position, but in April it moved two steps forward to 106th position. Similarly, broadband internet was ranked 107th in April and May last year but improved by two steps in June. It rose to 107th in July. However, it dropped to 104th in August. In this way, it was 107th in September, 108th in October, 107th in November and 108th in December. At the beginning of this year, the ranking of Bangladesh was unchanged. However, there was a step behind in February. Then from March to April, two steps are advanced.
