Singer Nobel Arrested for Allegedly Attempting to Film Objectionable Video
Controversial singer Mainul Ahsan Nobel has been arrested again on charges of luring a young woman under the pretence of marriage, holding her captive, and attempting to forcibly take objectionable pictures and videos. He was arrested by Demra police from the Bottola area of Siddhirganj in Narayanganj at approximately 12:30 PM on Monday, 23rd February.
The singer has previously faced legal troubles on multiple occasions due to controversial remarks and disruptive behaviour on social media.
According to the new arrest warrant, Nobel lured a young woman to his studio with a promise of marriage and held her there for a day. It is alleged that he pressured her to allow him to take objectionable photos and videos and physically assaulted her during this time.
In response to this incident, the victim filed a case in court on 13th August of the previous year. The court assigned the case to the PBI (Police Bureau of Investigation) for further investigation. Following the investigation, PBI SI Nuruzzaman submitted a report to the court on 2nd February. Based on the report, the court issued arrest warrants for Nobel and three others.
Inspector (Investigation) Murad Hossain of DMP's Demra Police Station confirmed the arrest, stating that Nobel was arrested based on the court's warrant. He is currently in police custody and will be presented to the court after legal procedures are completed.
Demra Police Station's Duty Officer Nazmul Alam stated regarding his re-arrest that a warrant was issued by the court in the names of Nobel and three others in an old case. After Demra police were informed about this, they executed the warrant and arrested the main accused, Nobel. The process of sending him to court is currently underway.
