Despite the postponement of the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) Central Students’ Union (SUCSU) election following a court verdict a day before voting, SUST students will receive a six-day break to exercise their voting rights in the 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum.

Confirming the matter on Thursday, February 5, University Registrar Syed Salim Mohammad Abdul Qadir said the decision was taken to facilitate students’ participation in the national polls.

Earlier, a university notification stated that in observance of the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the referendum, and to ensure smooth voting for students, all academic activities—including classes and examinations—will remain suspended from February 9 to February 12. In addition, all university offices will remain closed on February 11 and 12.

As a result, academic activities will be halted for four consecutive days (February 9–12). Moreover, since February 13 and 14 (Friday and Saturday) fall on the weekly weekend, SUST students will effectively enjoy a six-day holiday in total.
