No Fire at BTRC, Just a Drill
A photo circulating on social media claiming “Fire at BTRC” is actually from a fire drill conducted at the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC). A unit from the Mohammadpur Fire Service carried out the training for BTRC officials and employees.
On the final day of the two-day workshop, on 20 November around noon, a simulated fire and smoke were created as part of a hands-on session to teach participants how to respond in case of a real fire.
BTRC’s media spokesperson Mohammad Zakir Hossain confirmed that there is no reason for panic. He added that the practical class lasted about 20 minutes starting at 1:00 pm.
