TikTok Tightens Trust: New Safety Features for Bangladeshi Users
TikTok has rolled out a series of new safety updates to make the platform more secure for users in Bangladesh. The latest features focus on protecting teenagers, guiding families, and supporting creators, reinforcing TikTok’s commitment to a safer and more responsible digital environment.
Teen and Family Safety
To ensure age-appropriate experiences for younger users, TikTok now conducts enhanced age verification and has introduced over 50 safety measures to protect minors. Among these are default screen time limits and restrictions on direct messaging for teen users.
The platform has also upgraded its Family Pairing feature to give parents more control and awareness of their children’s activity. Parents will now receive automatic notifications when their teens share content and can review their privacy settings, including download permissions for users aged 16–17. Through the Manage Topics feature, parents can even customize the type of content appearing on their child’s feed.
Additionally, TikTok is soon launching a tool that will allow parents to pre-block specific accounts, further strengthening digital safety within families.
Digital Well-being and Awareness
In an effort to promote balanced technology use, TikTok has introduced several tools for digital well-being. A new feature called “Well-being Missions” encourages users to build healthy online habits by completing interactive challenges.
The platform is also developing a Digital Well-being Hub, which will bring together key tools such as screen time management and sleep hour settings. With these features, users will be able to set time limits for app usage, maintaining mental wellness while staying connected to the creative community.
Safety and Tools for Creators
To protect creators and enhance their experience, TikTok has launched new features such as “Creator Care Mode”, which enables one-click comment filtering, allowing creators to maintain a positive and respectful comment space.
Another feature, “Content Check Lite”, helps creators comply with community guidelines by reviewing videos before posting. This feature is currently available on the web version of the platform.
Furthermore, the new “Creator Inbox” enables faster and easier communication with followers, helping creators strengthen their online communities.
Through these updates, TikTok aims to ensure that the platform remains both creative and secure. The company reaffirmed that its ongoing efforts are directed at maintaining “a digital environment where creativity thrives hand in hand with safety.”
