Vivo Ventures into Vibrant Underwater Photography with Y400

Vivo has introduced its latest smartphone, the Y400, featuring a dedicated underwater photography mode. The company claims that this mode allows users to effortlessly capture vibrant fish, colorful coral, or moments of swimmers in action beneath the water. Additionally, the phone is equipped with a wet-hand touch algorithm, ensuring full screen responsiveness even underwater or when hands are wet.

“In other words, you can scroll, tap, and take photos underwater using the shutter button,” a Vivo spokesperson stated. “Apart from the shutter button, photos and videos can also be captured using the volume rocker. For post-swim protection, the Vivo Y400 includes a one-touch water ejection feature.”

This feature uses micro-vibrations to expel any residual water from the phone’s charging port and speakers with a single touch, safeguarding the device. Despite this, it is recommended not to charge the phone while it is wet.

Vivo has also assured users that the water ejection mechanism eliminates the risk of electric shock, while maintaining clear and muffler-free sound quality.

According to Vivo Bangladesh, the Y400 comes with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX852 autofocus main camera. With dual IP68 and IP69 protection, the phone is safe for underwater photography. It has passed rigorous tests confirming resistance not only to water splashes but also to deep water, rain, waterfall exposure, dust, and sudden shocks.
