A fraud ring has impersonated actress Shabnur and gotten a Facebook page verified. Shabnur became aware of this on Friday morning, July 25th.
After acquaintances and well-wishers sent Shabnur the Facebook page link and screenshots, they confirmed that the verified Shabnur was a fake.
However, the information provided on the page is Shabnur's actual information. This has caused concern for Shabnur, once a hugely popular actress.
She said, "There are hundreds of IDs and pages in my name on Facebook. Those who have verified a page in my name do not have honest intentions at all. This fraud ring can use my name to commit various crimes and misdeeds. Maybe they already have, which none of us know. Even those who did this may have my passport or national identity card information. Otherwise, they couldn't have gotten it verified. After everyone informed me, I am worried about the matter."
Shabnur said she has already decided to prepare for legal action. After filing a General Diary (GD) at the police station, she will also inform the Cyber Security Department of the police about it.
The actress said, "I am sure that someone from Bangladesh is running this page. Multiple people are involved behind this. I would request the law enforcement agencies to bring the identities of such fraud rings to light."
Shabnur also said that the page which has been verified impersonating a fake Shabnur, has a total of more than 659,000 followers. Whatever is posted on her real ID and page is posted on that page the next moment. The page is run very cleverly. "I am actually most worried because, since the page is verified, everyone will think it is mine. Then they can do any kind of injustice or crime in my name, of which I may know nothing, and the responsibility will not be mine. I am also informing Facebook authorities about the matter."
Shabnur has been irregular in films for several years. She now spends most of her time in Sydney, Australia. Her only child, Aijan Nehan, is studying in Sydney, Australia.
