Nagad-TBS joint publication

In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the great language movement, 'Nagad' and The Business Standard (TBS) has taken a joint initiative to pay homage to 19 eminent language fighters of Chittagong for their outstanding contribution to the language movement. On the occasion of the great International Mother Language Day, 'Nagad' and The Business Standard has unveiled a special joint publication titled 'Chittagong in Language Movement'. Honorable Deputy Minister for Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel, MP, unveiled the cover of this special magazine at an inaugural function held at the head office of 'Nagad' on Sunday. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Barrister Biplob Barua was present as the special guest on the occasion. Prominent freedom fighter and Ekushey Medal winning actor Nasir Uddin Yusuf Bachchu, Managing Director of 'Nagad' Tanvir A Mishuk and other eminent personalities too were present in the unveiling program. The joint publication titled 'Chittagong in Language Movement' has been published with the untold stories of 19 language fighters of Chittagong region. The story of their active participation and contribution in achieving the status of Bangla as the state language in the great language movement has come up through this publication. In addition to the important role played by language soldiers in the language movement, the magazine will play an important role in preserving the history of Bengali language and Amar Ekushey February. The publication includes 19 language fighters from Chittagong, Shahid Saber, Ahmedur Rahman Azmi, AKM Emdadul Islam, Shri Krishna Gopal Sen, Abdus Salam, AKM Rafiq Ullah Chowdhury, Abdullah Al Harun, Ramesh Sheel, MA Aziz, Abul Kalam Azad. , Chemon Ara, Mohammad Solaiman, Binod Bihari, Pratibha Mutsuddi, Shawkat Osman, Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury, Professor Abdul Fazal, Sayedul Haque and Mahbub Ul Alam Chowdhury. Earlier, during the Amar Ekushey February celebrations, these 19 stories were widely published and disseminated through the print and online editions of the national English daily The Business Standard from February 1 to February 21. The joint publication will be available nationwide with The Business Standard's daily newspaper on International Mother Language Day. Commenting on the initiative, Tanvir A. Mishuk, Managing Director, Nagad, said, “This effort is a small step towards preserving the history of soldiers and showing respect in a bold language. Nagad is very happy to be a part of such an initiative. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to The Business Standard and all the collaborators for putting the stories together through hard work."
