Coordination in 19 Haats of Dhaka city will be conducted thru’ WhatsApp groups

On the verge of Eid-ul-adha, the Festival of Sacrifice for the Muslim community, hundreds of thousands of market places will be installed for trading sacrificial animals all over the country along with the capital city, Dhaka. These market places are locally known as Haats. This time, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will conduct the Haat coordination program through 19 separate WhatsApp groups for the 19 Haats of Dhaka. DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman informed the matter after a meeting with the lessees of DMP headquarters on Tuesday, June 4.

The DMP commissioner said that separate WhatsApp groups will be created for coordinating 19 Haats in Dhaka City. Each group will have one representative each from Police, City Corporation, District Administration, Consumer Rights and Haat Leaseholders. So that, if any problem arises can be solved in the fastest possible time.

Habibur Rahman said, coordination of those who will work in sacrificial animal market in Dhaka should be done well. In particular, there will be District Administration, City Corporation Magistrate and Police Magistrate. Let there be harmony between them. 19 coordination meetings should be held for 19 Haats in Dhaka. Police OC, DC and traffic police members will coordinate all these activities.

According to the decision of the meeting, animals from one market cannot be taken to another inside Dhaka. If someone takes down the animal from one market to another, a robbery case may be filed against them if necessary. Traders who bring cattle from outside Dhaka should hang a banner in front of the vehicle carrying the animals with the name of the Haat, the cow market.

Security of sacrificial animal Haats, detection of money escorts and fake notes, overall law and order and traffic management were discussed in detail in the coordination meeting. 

The coordination meeting was attended by senior officers of DMP, various intelligence agencies, Naval Police, Highway Police, City Corporation, Fire Service, RAB, Bangladesh Police Headquarters, Bangladesh Bank, Dhaka Range Police, Dhaka District Commissioner, DPDC, DESCO and DNCC representatives, all of Dhaka Metropolis. The lessees of the cow market were also present.
