Obaidul Haque Appointed Technical Education DG
- Additional Secretary Md. Obaidul Haque has been appointed as the new Director General of the Directorate of Technical Education.
Additional Secretary Md. Obaidul Haque has been appointed as the new Director General (DG) of the Directorate of Technical Education, the apex state authority responsible for steering national polytechnic, technical, and engineering training ecosystems.
The appointment was formalized through an official gazette issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on 2 September 2026, Wednesday. Prior to this transfer, Md. Obaidul Haque served as an Additional Secretary in the Technical and Madrasah Education Division, to which his services remain assigned to execute the directorial mandate with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, the outgoing Director General of the Directorate of Technical Education, Additional Secretary Abul Khair Md. Akkas Ali, has been transferred to serve as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Science and Technology, aligning with national science policy and applied research administration.
The administrative order included several senior-level civil service realignments. Additional Secretary Md. Shahjahan Mia, previously attached to the Ministry of Public Administration, has been posted to the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs. Concurrently, Additional Secretary Md. Jahangir Alam, attached to the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
In another posting, Project Director (Additional Secretary) Muhammad Abdul Hai Al-Mahmud has been transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture as Additional Secretary. Additionally, the Chairman of the Bangladesh Tea Board, Major General Md. Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, has been repatriated to the Bangladesh Army, with his services returned to the Armed Forces Division.
