Media Meet & Digital Discourse:
UK Online Press Club Hosts Dialogue on Journalism and AI
With the active participation of media professionals and social figures, an exchange meeting and the biennial general meeting of the Borolekha Friends Club UK were held in East London at the United Kingdom Online Press Club.
The exchange meeting took place at Ponchkhana Hall in East London on Monday, April 6, at 7:00 pm local time, presided over by the organization’s President Dr. Md. Zainul Abedeen Rose and moderated by General Secretary Dr. Azizul Ambia. The Editor of the Bangladesh-based daily Dainik Tritiyo Matra, Robeen Siddiqui, attended as the chief guest. Special guests included former President of the UK-Bangla Reporters Unity, journalist and researcher Matiar Chowdhury; Senior Vice President of the London-Bangla Press Club Ahad Chowdhury Babu; President of the Bangladesh Press Club UK Sakir Hossain; and General Secretary Touhidul Karim Mujahid.
Joining via teleconference, Labour Party mayoral candidate of Tower Hamlets Council Councillor Sirajul Islam delivered remarks, along with former Speaker of Tower Hamlets Council Khales Uddin, former Speaker Ahabab Hossain, and former Deputy Mayor Shahid Ali.

While speaking, chief guest Robeen Siddiqui emphasized the professional responsibility, unity, and positive role of journalists working abroad, stating that online media is currently playing a particularly significant role. He also advised exercising caution in the use of AI. Additionally, Tower Hamlets Council Labour Party-nominated mayoral candidate Councillor Sirajul Islam highlighted the important role of the media in community development.
Speakers expressed hope that the event would play a significant role in sharing the joy of Eid and further strengthening camaraderie and unity among journalists.
