Xbox’s Future Shifts Toward Cloud as Global Cloud Gaming Surges
The future of Xbox is steadily moving beyond traditional consoles toward cloud-based services. Microsoft reports that since the launch of Xbox Cloud Gaming in India, global cloud-gaming engagement has reached a new milestone. According to the company, Xbox Game Pass subscribers have spent 45% more time playing games in the cloud this year compared to the same period last year, reports The Verge.
Not only PC and mobile users, console players are also showing increased interest in enjoying greater flexibility. Microsoft states that cloud-streaming time among console users has risen by 45%, while usage across other devices has increased by 24%.
These statistics indicate a growing user preference for integrated, multi-platform gaming experiences beyond traditional consoles. Meanwhile, the delayed launch of Nvidia’s GeForce Now service in India has given Xbox Cloud Gaming an added advantage in the region.
Microsoft believes that the future Xbox ecosystem will rely heavily on these cloud-based services, enabling users to play games seamlessly from any location, regardless of their device.
