We will subdue technology, not be subjugated: Education Minister
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has expressed her determination to subjugate technology instead of being subjugated by technology. She said, 'Now many people are getting addicted to technology and devices. We spend too much time on devices. Technology will also be needed in our lives. Because now the world is running on science and technology. We will subdue technology, not be subjugated. Through proper use of technology, we will improve the quality of life. We will innovate. We will move forward and move the country forward. Now the world is running on science and technology. We will not be addicted to technology; we will be efficient. We need to improve our quality of life through proper use of technology.
She declared this belief while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of Bangabandhu National Gold Cup (Boys, U-17) and Bangamata National Gold Cup (Girls, U-17) at the district level at Chandpur Stadium on Friday (October 6) afternoon.
The education minister said, 'We need a modern, progressive, humanitarian, non-sectarian, healthy, strong, working generation with science-minded thinking. To build it one has to concentrate on studies, participate in innovative activities. At the same time, one should become proficient in technology. We have to innovate. We will move forward and move the country forward. For this, sports should be done along with education. Sport is a great way to establish yourself.
As a special guests in the program, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Saiful Islam, Mayor of Chandpur Municipality Md. Zillur Rahman and Vice-president of the district sports organization Advocate Zahidul Islam Roman delivered their speeches. Deputy Commissioner of Chandpur and District Sports Association President Kamrul Hasan presided over the ceremony.
Chandpur Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Bashir Ahmed, General Secretary of the District Sports Association Golam Mostafa Babu, District Sports Officer Md. Tariqul Islam, Upazila Nirbahi officers, teachers and parents were also present in the event. Journalist MR Islam Babu conducted the program.
