Walton Unveils Advanced Dual-Band Router ‘Toronggo’
Bangladeshi tech giant Walton Digi-Tech Industries Ltd. has launched a new Wi-Fi router under the “Toronggo” brand, model WR61i, featuring cutting-edge dual-band technology. The router offers advanced performance technology with a high-speed 5 GHz band, catering to multimedia-rich applications and modern user demands.
On Wednesday, January 1, 2025, during a visit to Walton’s headquarters in Chandra, Gazipur, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Chairman, Major General (Retd.) Md. Emdad Ul Bari, inaugurated the new router. The event was attended by BTRC commissioners Brigadier General (Retd.) Iqbal Ahmed and Mahmud Hossain, along with Director Generals Brigadier General Mohammad Moniruzzaman Jewel and Brigadier General Md. Aminul Haque. Also present were Walton Digi-Tech Industries Ltd. Chairman SM Rezaul Alam, Managing Director SM Monjurul Alam Ovee, AMD Liaquat Ali, and Chief Business Officer (Computer & PCBA) Touhidur Rahman Rad.
A ten-member BTRC delegation led by the chairman was warmly welcomed at Walton headquarters by AMD Engineer Liaquat Ali and other senior Walton officials with flowers. The visit commenced with a screening of a video documentary showcasing Walton’s extensive operations. The delegation then explored Walton’s state-of-the-art product display center, followed by tours of its refrigerator, SMT (Surface Mounting Technology), PCB and laptop projects, mobile phone, and mold manufacturing plants. The guests were highly impressed by Walton’s remarkable advancements in domestic technology manufacturing and its global-standard production, marketing, and export capabilities.
At a briefing following the visit, BTRC Chairman Major General (Retd.) Md. Emdad Ul Bari expressed his admiration for Walton’s contribution to Bangladesh’s technological progress. He remarked, “Walton is leading Bangladesh in technology products, and we are very optimistic about its future. What we witnessed here today is truly remarkable. Walton is branding Bangladesh globally through its products and making the nation proud.”
The newly launched router boasts four 5 dBi antennas that enhance signal strength, providing users with superior wireless internet transmission. Equipped with omni-directional technology, the router ensures strong network coverage across homes and offices. Features like Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) technology allow multiple devices to connect seamlessly, delivering high-quality and fast internet services.
