Highlighting the initiative of the Awami League government in women's march, the Prime Minister said that there were no girls in the Air Force, Navy, Army, and Border Guard earlier. I have given opportunities to girls everywhere. The father of the nation appointed some girls in the police. I saw that there was no place for women in any DC, SP post. It was said that girls can't. There were no secretary. The place of ladies was very low. In terms of seniority, they were listed together. I said, I want a separate list for ladies. Had to fight everywhere. Even then they cannot go to the level of secretary. There is a system in the administration, 10 percent officers can be appointed under the President's quota. I hired the first girl under that quota. I was first appointed to the Prime Minister's office as a secretary in my office. This is how I opened the door. When I went to do the first SP, there was a big hurdle. Girls will be SP! I said, yes, girls will be SP.
The head of government said that our women who do not work outside work only in the family but there is a lot of work. This should also be considered as labor in their workplace. Many people research, where are the girls working, in this place where they have to work tirelessly day and night. That place is not accepted as workplace. I think it is not right.
The Prime Minister said about the third gender, they have not committed any crime! They are children of parents. Why should they leave their parents and go to the streets? They would have no livelihood—it just couldn't be. Many people have fought for women's rights only. No one ever thought about this category. We have recognized them in the Constitution. They will stay with their parents, learn education, get a job, get job training, they will get a healthy life. We have added a third gender to each form.
She said, sometimes people are suffering due to rising commodity prices, but it is due to an international situation, but if we keep our production right, we will do it ourselves. I will not reach out to anyone, I will not go begging.
While building the war-torn country, the father of the nation had said that he would build the country only with the 'soil and people' he had, the Prime Minister said, remembering that, even from this thought, if we all fulfill our responsibilities, if we all are a little thrifty, Be thrifty, insha Allah recession will not engulf us. Internationally, many developed countries have now declared themselves as economic recession countries. By God's grace, Bangladesh has not yet given, I believe that it will not need to be given. Because, we ourselves will stand on our own feet, move forward. Bangladesh will move forward, women's society will move forward.
