Netflix added the first mobile game ‘Relic Hunters: Rebels’
Video streaming service provider Netflix has added ‘Relic Hunters: Rebels’, the first mobile game created by Brazilian game maker Rogue Snail, to its gaming list. On Tuesday, Netflix announced the addition of RPG shooter-looter game to its own gaming list.
According to a Reuters report, Netflix's efforts in the mobile gaming industry will be costly and will take time to make an impact, analysts say. Because, there are already many experienced players in this industry.
In a statement, Mark Venturelli, CEO of Rogue Snail, said: "We've tried to create a game that can easily run on older phones. This will allow us to reach countless visitors, especially in places where people cannot afford to buy new devices every year. It is this idea that makes us think that we can make more games without thinking about earning money. In this way, we can focus on making fun games without thinking about our own expenses.”
Participants will be able to play as one of the four hunters in the game. There, the gamer has to collect various weapons by fighting with 'Space Duck' and 'Turtle' to bring down the evil Dukan Empire.
Netflix, which recently entered the mobile gaming market, is now expanding its game list. Earlier, the company bought three gaming studios.
The studios are called 'Night School', 'Next Games' and 'Boss Fight Entertainment' respectively.
Night school is best known for the game called 'Oxenfree'. In addition, the game 'Stranger Things' has been made by Next Games and the 'Danzen Boss' game of Boss Fight is quite popular.
Brazil-based gaming studio Rogue Snail was founded in 2013. The company has previously released other Relic Hunters-based games such as Star Vikings Forever and Chroma Squad.
