The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has implemented a special arrangement for taxpayers who are unable to register in the online e-return system due to the lack of biometric-registered mobile SIM cards. NBR announced this in a press release on Sunday, December 29.

According to the statement, as part of simplifying the online tax return submission process, some taxpayers, despite having their national ID cards, could not obtain biometric mobile SIM cards due to the absence of fingerprint registration. Such taxpayers can complete their e-return system registration by submitting a written application in person at Room 717 of the Second Secretary (Tax Information Management and Evaluation) at the NBR.

NBR also disclosed that nearly 1 million taxpayers have already submitted their returns online. The agency urged all taxpayers to submit their returns online smoothly and effortlessly by January 31.

Previously, NBR extended the deadline for individual taxpayers to submit their annual income tax returns. On December 24, it was announced that the submission deadline had been extended to January 31.
