MoU signed between Ami Probashi Limited and the ICT Division
Ami Probashi Limited has entered into an agreement with the Information and Communication Technology Division to provide services including registration of employees who wish to go abroad, and overall assistance in safe travel abroad. Joint Secretary of ICT Division Ataur Rahman Khan, Ami Probashi Limited Co-Founder and CEO Namir Ahmed Noori signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations at the BCC Conference Center of ICT Tower in Agargaon on Wednesday.
While speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, the Minister of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Imran Ahmed commented that 'quick solution to the problem is smartness'. The ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak while speaking as the President said that the government is implementing a long-term plan to make the ICT sector the fourth industrial sector of Bangladesh after the diaspora, clothing and agriculture sectors on the advice of the ICT advisor.
Immigration Minister Imran Ahmed urged to consider the 'intellectual right' of the app before considering the cost of the contract signing ceremony. He said the blockchain that he invented has value. So there is no reason to call blockchain for free. Every business proposal has a cost. But selection of fair value is very complicated. So you have to judge its value with an open mind. Basically, the main thing is how fast we can move the country forward with this app.
While speaking as the chief guest, Imran Ahmed also said that connectivity is the most important issue at this time. When trying to do something new, there will be some glitches. But smartness depends on how to solve problems quickly.
And without expressing doubts about everything, the minister commented that a quick solution will come to solve the problem of the server in BMET.
In the President's speech, The ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed said that, the Ami Probashi App is the fastest growing app in the world, it has become possible because the government has created a business sector. The 'Identity' and 'Security' app of the ICT Division is working behind the app. As a result, 11 lakh expatriates have been able to go abroad smoothly. During this time, Surakkha App has received a benefit of around 70 crore taka from dhyana.gov bd. Interoperability and integrated platform have been added with Nia Bus. As a result, there is no need to go to the database like NID, Passport, Driving License, BMET separately. You can do all the verification only from Idana dotgov.bd. From the Aami Prabasi app, besides registration, transactions, training will all be cashless, paperless, faceless and contactless.
The state minister expressed hope that in the coming days, every area including land, education, health, railways and judiciary will be bound by this smart contract.
He also said, now our target is to convert digital centers into smart centers. Even without coming to the center, the services of expatriates will be delivered at hand. I will add Ekshop Ekpay to this app. Similarly, Internet Protocol phone calls can also be delivered.
Honorable senior secretary of Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Md. Ahmed Munirus Salehin and Additional Secretary of Information and Communication Technology Division Naveed Shafiullah were present as special guests.
Every step of the government to go abroad can be done from home using the Ami Probashi app. So far the app has been downloaded more than 5 million times. Digital job verification is also coming soon.
