JRC Board, the JCI CYE Champion
The two-day JCI Smart Bangladesh Expo 2023 concluded on Saturday night by awarding creative and smart initiatives of young innovators. In the JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur (CYE) award given for the first time, the electronic education board 'JRC Board' designed and prepared in Bangladesh in memory of late national Professor Jamilur Reza Chowdhury has become the champion. JRC Board CEO Redwan Ferdous became the champion of this microcontroller board based on ESP-32.
The first runner-up was Maliha Rahman, co-founder and CEO of online legal aid startup Legal X, and the second runner-up was Syed Shafayet Karim of Royal Bengal Suj.
RedX selected 50 initiatives from among the 25 applications and gave a grant of 350,000 taka to the winners.
JCI National Vice President Muhammad Altamish Nabil and National Digital Committee Chairperson Faheem Ahmed were the coordinators of the CY Award.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud was connected at the closing ceremony virtually on the way back from Chittagong to Dhaka. He said, I have been able to join virtually today because of the implementation of the Digital Bangladesh vision. The youth must come forward to face the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution. So thanks to JCI for organizing this event with youth for the first time. Meanwhile, the minister assured to support various initiatives of JCI for the implementation of Smart Bangladesh.
State Minister for Disaster and Relief Enamur Rahman said in the program as a special guest that the biggest sector of smart Bangladesh will be smart economy. We are optimistic about the involvement of youth entrepreneurs.
BASIS President Russel T. Ahmed said, Smart Bangladesh does not mean only the ICT. Here are RMG, Education and all other sectors. These sectors should work together to make Bangladesh smart. It is true that the ICT industry will play a leading role in building a smart Bangladesh. But everyone has to work together.
BASIS President further said that JCI will always continue to support. He also expressed his interest in working together with BASIS JCI in the future.
After two days of smart technology demonstrations and 11 topic-based seminars, the winners were announced at the closing session. Expo Convener and JCI Deputy National President Imran Qadir gave a welcome address on the occasion. JCI National President Ziaul Haque, JCI Bangladesh Foundation General Secretary Niaz Morshad Elite, BASIS President Russell T Ahmed, JCI Bangladesh Foundation Chairperson Shakhawat Hossain Mamun, JCI Bangladesh Founder President Mousud Mannan delivered speeches after announcing the award winners.
