Japan-Bangladesh ICT and Cyber Security MoU to be signed on Thursday

The State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak accompanies the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her tri-nation tour which is likely to continue for about 15 days. The tour, which began on Tuesday morning with a visit to Japan, will end with a flight from the United Kingdom to Bangladesh on May 8 via the United States.
Along with the flight, the state minister for ICT posted a festive selfie of the trip on a chartered plane of Bangladesh Biman on social media. With him in the picture, there are Prime Minister's younger sister Sheikh Rehana, investment and private adviser Salman F Rahman, Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid Bipu and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam.
In that selfie posted by, netizens are found wishing for the success of the trip. Within half an hour of the post, more than 5 thousand well-wishers sent love emojis and wished a safe landing.
According to sources, an agreement on ICT and cyber security will be made with Japan at the beginning of this trip to develop trilateral relations. According to the concerned parties, through this agreement, the acquisition of smart technology, the development and export of technologically skilled human resources and the security and defense cooperation of the two countries in the cyber space will play a special role.
According to the tour schedule, the delegation headed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will meet Emperor Naruhito of Japan on April 26 at noon. After the bilateral meeting of the Prime Minister of Japan with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida this afternoon, 8 agreements and memorandums of understanding may be signed between the two countries.
After the visit to Japan, on the afternoon of April 29, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Prime Minister's entourage will attend a ceremony organized on the occasion of 50 years of partnership between Bangladesh and the World Bank at the World Bank headquarters in Washington DC on May 1. In the meeting, the Minister of State for ICT is likely to highlight the technological development funded by the World Bank. He is also likely to participate in the discussion at the next day's 'US-Bangladesh Business Council' meeting. And as the Prime Minister's traveling companion on the UK tour, though he will not attend this upcoming coronation ceremony of Charles III and his wife Camilla, which will be held after 70 years.
State Minister of ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak is scheduled to return home on May 10 via Dubai from Bravery Hills Hotel on May 8; even though it is a tripartite trip, he is visiting two countries as the Prime Minister's companion.
