The government is determined to ensure uninterrupted mobile services including stopping mobile call drops. Customers have the right to receive the full service they pay for.

Posts and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar said this at a press conference organized on Monday at the BTRC Auditorium on mobile call drop, calldrop-related information, and compensation by refunding Talktime to customers.

The minister said that proper development of infrastructure must be ensured so that the operators do not have to pay compensation for call drops. The minister urged the mobile operators to come forward in healthy business competition by stopping the trend of customer growth beyond capacity.

He said it is not right that the customers suffering from call drops will be compensated only by refunding the money. It is the right of the customer to refund the money to the customer for not being able to provide the service for which the customer is paying.

He said to the operators, if you improve the infrastructure, you don't have to pay compensation. You must make sure that you don't have to pay compensation - you must improve the quality of service. He said, "Do not want the money back for call drops, give good services then you don't have to pay compensation."

Secretary of Posts and Telecommunications Md. Khalilur Rahman, BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder and related officials of BTRC were present at the press conference.
