BRTA request to receive smart cards: link published after SMS

4 lakh 67 thousand driving licenses are ready for distribution. Pending 11 lakh 67 thousand 896 driving licenses have already been printed and sent to the concerned circle office. Out of this, about 7 lakh licenses have been distributed. Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) informed that the SMS is being sent to the applicants mentioning the specific date for distribution of the remaining licenses for distribution. Earlier, BRTA had given a message to arrive after 5 working days via SMS. The crowd of candidates who appeared with that SMS caused a lot of confusion last week. However, the specific date of card collection is being given from this week. After this, if no one receives the message even after waiting for a long time, then it is requested to know the license acquisition information by clicking the link on BRTA's website. Although this link was published through notification, BRTA's information management system was under construction till the time of writing this report. According to BRTA sources, all the licenses are ready for those who gave their biometrics before June 2021. By checking the website, they can take delivery from the concerned circle office. It may be noted, the printing and distribution of driving license/smart card was stopped for a long time due to various complications including the Covid-19 pandemic. As a result, customers had to suffer with paper driving licenses. Finally, those driving license prints are done. For this reason, BRTA has requested the customers to get the card from the concerned circle office. At the same time the license supply information has been uploaded on BRTA website www.brta.gov.bd.
