Airbus shows interest in building and launching Bangabandhu Satellite-2

International aerospace company Airbus has expressed interest in supporting Bangladesh in the construction and launch of Bangabandhu Satellite-2. A three-member Airbus delegation led by the Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of France in Bangladesh, Guillaume Andhra de Cordel, met the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Mustafa Jabbar, on Sunday, July 23, at his office at the Bangladesh Secretariat. The delegation expressed this interest during the meeting with the minister.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on the details of the Bangabandhu Satellite-2 development, launch and allocation of orbital slots and the type of satellite.

Highlighting the need for Bangabandhu Satellite-2, the Minister said it will be an Earth Observatory satellite. We are working to implement the announcement of the country's second satellite launch in the current government's election manifesto. Bangladesh entered the Five-G era on December 12, 2021, following the implementation of the 2018 election manifesto. The third submarine cable connection is underway. Minister recalled France's contribution to the construction and launch of Bangabandhu Satellite-1 respectfully. On the other hand, the Deputy Head of Mission praised the progress of Bangladesh in the development of digital technology.

Other members of the delegation were Airbus Senior Vice President Stephen Vesval and Airbus Chief Representative Morad Bourouffala.
