PM emphasized on Sci-Tech education

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina puts emphasis on education based on science and technology. Considering the needs of the modern age, Prime Minister reiterates designing the education system in the line with creating job opportunities. The Prime Minister opines this while inaugurating a programme of giving away stipends, tuition fees, admission assistance, and treatment grants among disadvantaged and meritorious students from PM's Education Assistance Trust at the Ministry of Education. Prime Minister explains the importance of vocational education and the reasons for establishing need-based universities in different parts of the country. Getting connected virtually from Gono Bhaban, she informs: "We've established Maritime University and Civil Aviation & Aerospace University. That means We have chosen the subjects and locations based on importance so that people can be educated in an effective manner." She expresses her deep concern about the need-based modern approach in education to create opportunities befitting for the modern age. The programme was arranged by the Ministry of Education. Dr Dipu Moni, the Education Minister, Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury, Deputy Minister, Md. Mahbub Hossain, Secretary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Division, Md. Aminul Islam Khan, Secretary, Technical and Madrasa Education Division along with Nasrin Afroz, The Managing Director of PM's Education Assistance Trust was present in the programme. Apart from them, Prime Minister exchanged her views with the concerned officers of Golachipa Upazila of Patuakhali District, Bishwambhar Upazila of Sunamganj District and Sadar Upazila of Bandarban District through Video conference.
