Director General of DSA got promoted
The government has promoted 131 joint secretaries to the post of Additional Secretaries in the administration. Ministry of Public Administration has issued promotion orders on Sunday (August 25). The officer promoted to the post of Additional Secretary has been made Officer on Special Duty (OSD). Among them, Director General of Digital Security Agency Abu Saeed Md. Kamruzzaman has also been promoted.
On Sunday, he confirmed that he has joined the public administration. And as a result, there are now only two directors left in that agency, they are: Farzana Afroz, Mohammad Yahia. Abu Saeed was performing this important duty with these two directors. He was very vocal in raising awareness about safe internet use and prevention of cybercrime.
Meanwhile, the number of Additional Secretaries in the administration with the promoted officers is 524. However, the number of permanent posts of Additional Secretary is half of this number. Many of the promoted officers were deprived during the last Awami League government.
Officials promoted to the posts of Additional Secretary will be promoted with effect from the date they are superseded by junior officers and they will get arrears, the notification said.
The notification also states that if the office/workplace of an officer has already been changed from the workplace mentioned in the promotion order, he should submit the joining letter mentioning the name and address of the working office.
The notification further states that if any adverse/contrary information is received against any officer subsequently, the authority reserves the right to amend/cancel the order as necessary in his case.
If an officer's name is included in the notification despite being on lien or study leave, he shall inform the authorities without joining.
According to the notification, the officers who have been promoted to the post of Additional Secretary can directly contact the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration or send their joining letter by e-mail (sa1@mopa.gov.bd).
