Ensuring system optimization and secure database architecture, online services related to National Identity (NID) cards have been temporarily suspended for scheduled server maintenance. Consequently, citizens are experiencing temporary disruptions in accessing online portals for new NID applications, record corrections, and digital identity verifications.

Relevant sources from the Election Commission's NID wing confirmed the status on Sunday (October 18, 2026).

According to official sources, users are currently unable to access the main server due to critical backend updates and routine server maintenance. The technical team is working around the clock to resolve the downtime and minimize inconvenience.

Addressing the situation, Ashraf Hossain, System Manager at the NID Wing, stated, "Server update operations are currently underway. Services remain temporarily suspended for this reason, but operations will resume very soon."

Authorities confirmed that normal digital identity and verification operations will resume immediately upon completion of the scheduled maintenance. //DBTech/BMON/SMP/MIST//
