State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that 160 million people of the country are getting the benefits of digital Bangladesh. As a result, the trouble of the red ribbon is reduced. Transparency, speed and accountability of administrative work have been ensured. He was speaking online as the chief guest at the inauguration and Eid reunion of the Natore District Association USA, Inc. on Monday (June 22nd). Palak said a total of 39.6 million people have availed services from National Helpline 333 in the last four years. In addition to emergency food assistance, 4 million people across the country have sought medical advice maintaining physical distance through the Doctors Pool of the ICT Department in the last 15 months. He added that those who were in power in post-seventy-five Bangladesh never felt the need for setting up a call center for the citizens of the country. The state minister said police, fire service and ambulance are available in the United States by calling 911 in case of emergency, just as 170 million people in our country can reach the police, fire service and ambulance quickly if they call 999. In just four years, about 29.6 million people have received this service. "Even 12 years ago, we were a low-income country," he said. By dint of the foresight, talent, courage and honesty of Sheikh Hasina, the per capita income of Bangladesh has risen to 2,227 dollars and almost all administrative activities have been taken up in the digital file management system. Noting that e-commerce has become very strong in Bangladesh, Palak said that people in Bangladesh like in the United States can shop online. It is becoming possible to deliver any product, any service from the city to village to the citizens sitting at home. He added that in the last 15 months, judicial cases have been executed in virtual courts. Of which about 1 lakh 20 thousand bails have been executed. During the ongoing Corona pandemic, the present government has provided food to about 150 million families and sent taka 2 thousand 500 each to 8.6million jobless families through Mobile Financial Digital Wallet.
