Popular actress and model Bidya Sinha Mim recently joined an online community meeting to raise awareness about bKash's mobile financial services (MFS), helping rural communities in Bangladesh understand how to safely and conveniently manage microfinance savings and loan repayments from home.

The virtual event was part of bKash's two-month-long “Digital Union” activation program, launched in Jagannathpur and Panchthubi unions of Cumilla. During the session, Mim engaged directly with locals, answering their questions about digital transactions and demonstrating how to use bKash for secure and simple payments.

bKash initiated the “Digital Union” campaign in early February in these two unions, aiming to promote digital financial literacy. The program features door-to-door meetings, public announcements, educational videos, Baul music performances, and interactive games to teach residents how to use bKash accounts for everyday transactions.

The online community gathering, highlighted by Mim’s participation, created a festive atmosphere, with enthusiastic involvement from local residents. After the meeting, villagers from Jagannathpur also took part in various games and activities, further strengthening community engagement.

As Bangladesh’s leading mobile financial service provider, bKash has long been committed to empowering marginalized communities by promoting digital transactions. This initiative is part of bKash’s broader goal to increase digital financial literacy across the country. With plans to expand the “Digital Union” program nationwide, the pilot in Cumilla marks the beginning of a larger effort to make digital finance accessible to all corners of Bangladesh.
