The Pakistani government has shut down TikTok, a small video-sharing app for the fourth time for promoting pornographic videos. Pakistan's telecommunications authority said in a statement on Wednesday that steps had been taken to shut down the platform due to the persistent presence of "inappropriate material" on the platform and failure to remove such materials.Critics of Pakistan, on the other hand, have complained that the app promotes pornographic and homosexual content, contrary to Muslim norms. However, the local TikTok representative has not yet commented on the matter. However, TikTok reported last June that it had deleted more than 6 million videos in just three months following complaints from Pakistani government officials and consumers. Of these, 15 percent of videos were removed directly due to 'nudity and sexual activity'.Earlier this month, the app was shut down for two days following a provincial court order.Tags:Pornographic contentTick tockPakistanPakistan Telecommunications AuthorityGay
