DNCC's smart dustbin will signal, when it fills with dirt

Dhaka North City Corporation has been launching technology-based services one after another. Smart dustbins were installed in front of Dhaka North City Corporation in Gulshan on Monday after providing parking facility in Mobile phone. This IoT-based garbage storage bin will alert you with an alarm when someone opens or fills up.

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md. Atiqul Islam inaugurated the installation of 100 smart dustbins in DNCC area on Monday, May 03, 2024 with brave freedom fighters and children. At that time, the mayor said, 'If you love the city, the country, no one can trash litter here and there. Everyone is only thinking about themselves, occupying is polluting. We collected waste from canals and exhibited. There is nothing on the earth, which is not being trashed. People are indiscriminately throwing trashes away. There is everything like carpet, mattress, chair, table, commode etc. which is not available in the canals and drains. He Requested everyone, “Please do not throw garbage in canals or drains. Throw garbage in certain places.”

The program was launched on the occasion of the 8th anniversary of BD Clean, a voluntary organization. During the event, the chief health officer of DNCC, Brigadier Imrul Kayes Chowdhury, Chief Waste Management Officer Captain Mohammad Fida Hasan, Gulshan Society President Barrister Omar Sadat, BD Clean Founder Farid Uddin and others.

On the occasion, DNCC Mayor said, 'Voluntary organization BD Clean has been working with me for a long time to build a clean city. Mirpur Paris canal, Mohammadpur Ramchandrapur canal participated in cleaning. I learned that after 8 years BD Clean is actively working with 58 district teams and 157 Upazila teams with more than 46000 active members. There is no such large voluntary organization in Bangladesh doing clean activities. BD Clean is doing clean activities by loving the country, loving the city.
